Elon Musk has hit back at former President Donald Trump, days after Trump referred to Musk as a “bulls–t artist,” saying that it’s time for him to “hang up his hat” and “sail into the sunset.”
Trump’s comments came at a rally in Alaska after he discovered that Musk was intending to terminate his purchase of Twitter.
“Elon is not going to buy Twitter. Where did you hear that before? From me.” Trump said, “He’s got himself a mess, you know…he’s another bullshit artist but he’s not going to be buying it, although he might later. Who the hell knows what’s going to happen? He’s got a pretty rotten contract. I looked at his contract, not a good contract. Sign up for Truth. We love Truth.”
Musk also indicated that he was leaning toward Ron DeSantis for the 2024 election, and claimed he recently voted for Rep. Mayra Flores in a Texas special election.
“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset,” Musk tweeted
Musk then explained his belief of why Trump wouldn’t make the best fit, citing “drama” in office and the former president’s age. Musk also defended his choice to support DeSantis.
“Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America,” Musk replied to one tweet. “If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win – he doesn’t even need to campaign.”
“Yeah, but too much drama,” he replied to another. “Do we really want a bull in a china shop situation every single day!? Also, I think the legal maximum age for start of Presidential term should be 69.
