Elon Musk isn’t messing around with Kathy Griffin. A federal judge may have tossed out his billion dollars in lawsuits, but he’s still the most powerful man in the world. After one phone call to his good friend Joe Barron, head of programming at HBO, Griffin was out a $4 million payday.
“We don’t need toxic people on our shows,” Barron told reporters outside McDonald’s in Burbank, “especially if they’ve made enemies with billionaires.” Musk could buy and sell the company if he really wanted to.
As for Griffin, her show, “Kathy!” won’t air this coming Wednesday, and the producers are demanding she returns the $500K advance she received. Her rep says she already spent most of it on PR campaigns.
Griffin won’t be able to find any work at all if Musk has his way. According to the receptionist at Twitter, who was the only person there we could get through to, Musk dedicated 15 of his elite team members to ruining her life. That’s what happens when you play out of your league, Ms. Griffin.
